I am an intersectional environmental justice practitioner and Assistant Professor of Sociology at St. Lawrence University, where I spearhead program and policy development, advocacy, research, teaching, and outreach on ecological and food equity. I hold a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Sociology from the University of Michigan.

I grew up in rural New Hampshire and am heavily influenced by place and relations between the environment and human experience. Since childhood, I have been active in nonviolent social justice organizing, building on my own experiences with social privilege and exclusion as well as ancestral resistance, including during the Holocaust and as refugees from communist Hungary to the United States. My path has also brought me into critical and creative support for first generation communities, survivors of sexual violence, and groups impacted by addiction, and I pull constructively from this to uplift my approach at the intersection of the environment, food systems, and health equity. I am grateful to further learn and collaborate with others in this work.
